Process Overview (having met prerequisites):
· Create Demo file in Q3
· Use HyperCam screen capture software to create AVI file
· Use Windows Movie Maker to create movie from AVI file adding titles and music (or HyperCam can use in-game sounds or both in-game and music)
· Publish movie from Windows Movie Maker (mixes it all together into one file)
· Upload into You-Tube
· Get url info to paste into your srB Forum Post
When you are ready to play a game and record your demo:
1. activate the mod you want to be playing in
2. go into single player and start the Tier/Map you want or start a server and add bots.
3. immediately after starting the gameplay hit “F4” to start the demo to record.
4. when finished gameplay hit “F5” to stop the demo from further recording.
5. setup your graphics to be no larger than 640x480
6. start both HyperCam and Q3 (alt + enter to get minimized window, use ~ to get out of the Q3 window)
7.

8. click on HyperCams

and click on the outside edge of the Q3 window.
9. Numbers getting the x/y coordinates will be here

10. Note: once you set these coordinates DO NOT MOVE the Q3 window (or you will just need to reset =) )
11. Set frame capture, 15 is a good starting point to see if you like the movement/flow and use “Auto Select” Video Compression to help limit disk space (without it you could potentially create gigabits of info! Be cautious!!)
12. go to this tab to set up in-game sounds (what is heard over the computer, have tried this but I don’t know what I did wrong?? It did not work, probably because I use the mic setup for TeamSpeak?? Will address this at a later date…)
13. Here are the HOT KEYS to engage HyperCam once in the Q3 window
14. Go to play the recorded Demo.

15. Start Demo then hit “F2” to start the HyperCam to record mode. When finished hit “F2” once again to stop HyperCam.
16. Go to AVI tab to access AVI recording file by clicking on
17. 4-5 minutes would yield approx 700 megabyte avi file (that’s with compression!!!)
18. Now to import AVI file into Windows Movie Maker. Here is a link to a You-Tube overview on audio to You-Tube but “import” AVI into the video area, you only need the first 3 minutes to learn how to import audio and AVI into Movie Maker). “Save” file as she shows or “Publish” if you have Vista.

(note: the red X in the video area is because i deleted the original avi file)19. You will end up with *.wmv file.
20. This is the file you would then upload to You-Tube =)
21. The END
